Eric Brown

Eric Brown is a senior construction and development executive with more than 40 years of experience leading large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic. His career includes senior leadership at Konover Construction, and later KBE Building Corporation, where Eric became an owner following the management-led acquisition of Konover Construction. In that role, he helped guide the firm's multi-state operation, major construction programs, and complex development assignments for both public and private clients.

Under Eric's leadership at KBE Building Corporation, the firm experienced substantial growth and operational expansion. When Eric joined Konover Construction in 1991, the company completed approximately $30 million of annual construction volume, much of it for the Konover portfolio. By the time he and is partners acquired the company in 2007, annual construction volume had increased to well over $100 million. When he departed KBE in 2019, the firm's annual volume exceeded $300 million, and KBE had become a consistent presence on the ENR Top 400 Contractors list - a trajectory that reflects Eric's ability to manage and scale complex construction and development operations. KBE continues to thrive today.

Over four decades, Eric has managed projects through the full life cycle - from land acquisition, due diligence, and entitlement, to financing, construction management, turnover, and lease-up/sell-out. His portfolio includes thousands of residential units and hundreds of institutional, senior living, hospitality, retail, and municipal assignments for clients such as Yale University, the University of Connecticut, the U.S. Navy, major national retailers, and multiple senior housing operators.

As a developer, Eric has delivered a diverse mix of residential communities across Connecticut, including those mentioned on the landing page. His development experience is complemented by decades of construction oversight across multi-family, senior living, educational, federal, hospitality and large-format retail projects.

Eric formed Selective Development in 2020 to build on his extensive experience in entitlement work and construction management. Since then, he has sourced, acquired, entitled, financed and overseen multiple residential communities, drawing on his long background in managing complex projects and coordinating large consultant and construction teams.

Eric is a graduate of Babson College with a B.S. in Accounting.
